CASE STUDY. |

DESIGN, DEVELOP & ROLL OUT OF A BESPOKE BI PLATFORM WITH EXTENSIVE PII & SECURITY CONSTRAINTS.

CLIENT OVERVIEW – FINTECH

A digital identification company focused on digital proof of user identification and facial biometrics for flawless verification.

AI-led industry experts with a strong need for security, PII protection and GDPR compliance. Global leader across banking, e-commerce, telecommunications and more.

THE CHALLENGE. |

The primary goal was to develop a bespoke solution following the client’s recent purchase of Looker to allow for scalability, PII data handling, a bespoke login portal for the internal teams to improve end user experience and training on the newly developed solution.

The client needed a bespoke data platform to enable them to handle large volumes of PII data while vigorously restricting access in accordance with GDPR legislation. This had to be secured from source, through to ingestion and the end reporting layer to protect and restrict this data at various stages of the data flow while maintaining secure access to those that needed it.

There was a lack of expertise within the internal teams around the technologies being used to help restrict this content and provide row-level security and a secure model.

There was an additional need to refine the end-user experience within the business and improve the way in which they consumed data and reports while enforcing best-in-class governance.

THE SOLUTION. |

Over a 4 month project, BI:PROCSI led the implementation of a bespoke BI platform using Looker from requirements gathering to engineering and modelling. The first step in the solution process was to understand the main requirements of the business and ensure the design of the solution strictly adhered to the overall strategy and needs of the business.

BI:PROCSI held workshops and user story sessions to identify and align stakeholder requirements and developed a bespoke custom portal in Looker with refreshed content, stories and updates, a complete white-labelled look and feel matching the customers branding and assets.

Parallel to this BI:PROCSI ran a series of training workshops on Looker using our own patented learning path to ensure the in house teams felt confident and comfortable developing and consuming reports and producing timely, accurate and highly governed insights.

Parallel to this BI:PROCSI ran a series of training workshops on Looker using our own patented learning path to ensure the in house teams felt confident and comfortable developing and consuming reports and producing timely, accurate and highly governed insights.

In addition, BI:PROCSI created bespoke documentation and diagrams on the effective handling of this data and the logical flow for full transparency.

THE RESULT. |

BI:PROCSI developed and rolled out a full instance of Looker with a completely bespoke home page with fully responsive widgets and interactive features in the clients branding.

We successfully and securely migrated a large volume of PII data and created globally scalable models to allow for further market rollouts with 0 business downtime.

Following, BI:PROCSI designed and led classroom-based training. the client internal teams felt comfortable and confident to continue development and iterative builds on the Looker platform to empower their users through data exploration.
