Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Solutions Architect/Data Architect that will be integrated into the BI:PROCSI project team, supporting the definition, implementation, and deployment of end-to-end data solutions.
The key responsibilities will be one of the senior technical resources within the team, strongly focused on engineering, development and architecture best practices across the end to end data estate. You will know how to investigate, analyse, visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available information. You will play an important role in creating the architecture and high-level design for building data solutions identify smart ways of completing the client’s requirements. You will also play a pivotal role in our pre-sales process helping shape the customer solution.
Key Skills
You need to have a combination of both soft skills and practical skills. Often working between the project team and a particular business area it is essential that you have good negotiating skills, are a great listener and are skilled at dealing with conflict.
You know about agile methodology and can apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work. You can work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery. You are unafraid to take risks, willing to learn from mistakes and appreciate the importance of agile project delivery.
You are extremely strong on all aspects of data modelling, engineering and architecture with a primary focus on solution design and implementation. Your SQL skills will be second to none with performance tuning and advanced modelling techniques being second nature to you. Understanding how to find the solution to technical problems is key, while translating these into layman’s terms to make these customer friendly.
Skills include: Applying thinking, gathering and analysing information using comprehensive tools and techniques; using data to formulate both short-term day-to-day and long-term strategic plans; and identifying and analysing options to assess the feasibility and operational impact. You can ensure that the business solution aligns with the vision, mission, objectives, strategy, and the client and user needs and can identify and recognise a viable solution or control.

- Forming partnerships with highly skilled technical resources and working closely to deliver the scope of the project
- Challenging technical decisions, reviewing the work of your colleagues to ensure best practices are met and the most optimal solution is utilised
- Understanding technical concepts and being able to explain them to business stakeholders at all levels
- Having an understanding of the entire data landscape across multiple technologies and tools and how to implement and design complex data solutions
- Identifying opportunities within clients and ensuring their successful transition to self-sufficiency
- Getting involved with Presales, as and when required, assisting with defining the most appropriate solutions for our prospective clients
